Journeyman Marcos Meneses Making Most of Opportunities

Wednesday’s Rainbow 6 Jackpot Pool Guaranteed at $300,000

Early Pick 5 Yields Single Winning Ticket Worth $405,174

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Journeyman Marcos Meneses is making the very most of his opportunities during the 2019-2020 Championship Meet at Gulfstream Park, where he made his way into the Top 10 with his upset scores aboard Forever Marta ($37.20) in Race 4 and Drinks On Me ($17.60) in Race 9 on Sunday’s program.

“I’ve worked very hard every day for that,” said the 33-year-old native of Venezuela of his highly productive Championship Meet while riding alongside the very best jockeys in the country.

Meneses has ridden 15 winners from 113 mounts while becoming the long shot bettors’ go-to guy and easily producing the highest average win payoff in the jockey standings. The average payoff of Meneses’ winners is an impressive $26.40. Last Friday, he had a two-win day aboard horses paying $45.60 and $14.40.

“You can never tell. I try my best with every horse in every race. Longshot or not, I try to win on every horse I ride,” he said.

Meneses rode more than 500 winners, including 2012 Clasico Simon Bolivar (G1) victor Comediante, in Venezuela before venturing to the U.S. in 2015.

Wednesday’s Rainbow 6 Jackpot Pool Guaranteed at $300,000

The 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool will be guaranteed at $300,000 Wednesday at Gulfstream Park.

The popular multi-race wager went unsolved for the 4th consecutive racing day Sunday.

The Rainbow 6 jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

Sunday’s early Pick 5 Pick 5 yield a very healthy $405,174 payoff to the bettor holding the only ticket with the winners of all of the first five races on the program.

Who’s Hot: Marcos Meneses notched his second two-win day during the last three days, scoring aboard Forever Marta ($37.20) in Race 4 and Drinks On Me ($17.60) in Race 9.

Rainbow 6 Carryover Jackpot Pool: $300,000 guaranteed (Wednesday):
