BLACK GOLD 5 REACHES $135,403 AT FAIR GROUNDS HEADING INTO FRIDAY RACING

New Orleans (February 20, 2020) – Horseplayers will get the chance to take a shot at the Black Gold 5 which now carries a pool of $135,403 going into Friday’s nine race card at Fair Grounds Racecourse. The jackpot is paid out when there is only a single winning ticket.

The sequence kicks off in race 5ith an estimated post time of 2:26 pm (CT).

Race 6 will feature a full field of 12 Louisiana Breds with one also eligible going about one mile over the turf course in a $40,000 maiden special weight race. Listed as Mike Diliberto lukewarm morning line favorite, Baudette Blizzard has finished no worse than third in her three most recent starts for trainer Dallas Stewart. The 3-year-old daughter of Ice Box was last seen finishing a game second at the Fair Grounds going one mile and seventy yards over a sloppy main track. She will be ridden by Brian Hernandez Jr. and will break from post five.

Race 7 will be run at six furlongs over the main track in another $45,000 maiden special weight race that drew a field of seven. Race 8 will be run at seven and one half furlongs over the turf course in a $40,000 maiden special weight with nine set to go postward.
