LEXINGTON, KY (June 5, 2020) – Keeneland today released the Condition Book for its five-day Summer Meet at Keeneland, to be held Wednesday, July 8 through Sunday, July 12.

The Condition Book is available online at Keeneland.com/racing or by clicking here.

“We are excited to offer such a high-quality Condition Book and to have the opportunity to present a number of major graded stakes traditionally held during the Spring Meet,” Keeneland Vice President of Racing and Sales Bob Elliston said. “We thank our horsemen for their strong support of Keeneland and our racing program.”

Keeneland will offer average daily purses of $948,000, including Kentucky Thoroughbred Development Funds, for a total of $4,742,000.

Ten graded stakes worth $2,575,000 headline the Summer Meet schedule: four Grade 1 stakes, four Grade 2 races and two Grade 3 events. Stakes nominations close Wednesday, June 24.

Keeneland will present a blockbuster day of racing on Saturday, July 11, featuring six graded stakes anchored by the $600,000 Toyota Blue Grass (G2) and $400,000 Central Bank Ashland (G1), preps for the Kentucky Derby (G1) and Kentucky Oaks (G1), respectively; $350,000 Coolmore Jenny Wiley (G1) and $250,000 Madison (G1). The $300,000 Maker’s Mark Mile (G1) is scheduled for Friday, July 10.

Graduates of Keeneland sales dominate racing across the globe at every level. In April and October, Keeneland offers some of the highest caliber and richest Thoroughbred racing in the world. In 2020, The Summer Meet at Keeneland will present five days of racing from July 8-12. Keeneland hosted the Breeders’ Cup World Championships in 2015 and will hold the event again on Nov. 6-7. Uniquely structured, Keeneland is a privately held company with a not-for-profit mission that returns its earnings to the industry and the community in the form of higher purses and millions of dollars donated in support of horse industry initiatives and charitable contributions for education, research, and health and human services throughout Central Kentucky.
