OLDSMAR, FL. – Tampa Bay Downs will reopen The Silks Poker Room on Sunday, June 14. The room will be open seven days a week from 10 a.m.-2 a.m. for all poker games and tournament play.

Simulcast wagering will not be offered. It will return once Grandstand modifications are finalized to implement safe social distancing for all customers.

Patrons will be required to have their temperatures taken before being allowed to enter. Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher will be denied admittance.

Limited food and beverage service will be available. The main Grandstand will remain closed for now. Employees are working diligently to ensure it will be open in a timely fashion.

The Silks Poker Room has implemented numerous safety and security measures to keep guests and staff protected during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

Players will be required to wear masks at all times and cash tables will be limited to eight players maximum per table. Servers and poker dealers will wear masks at all times and hand sanitizers will be located throughout the room.

Players are also asked to cash in any poker chips they possess immediately upon their arrival.

As an additional precaution against the spread of COVID-19, the facility will undergo a daily fogging designed to kill pathogens using electrostatic fogging equipment and an Environmental Protection Agency-approved chemical formula that eliminates the corona virus. The fogging will take place each day at the close of business.

The Silks Poker Room is also adding Solaris IAQ (indoor air quality) systems to clean the air conditioner and the air via UV light, ionizers and air purification systems.

Since its closing in mid-March, the entire poker room and facility have been cleaned and disinfected to present customers with a safe, comfortable environment. Floors have been cleaned, racks have been scrubbed and chips have been individually sanitized.

Carpets have been thoroughly cleaned and various areas have been painted, helping to ensure the entire facility is as safe as possible.
