Thursday’s Rainbow 6 Jackpot Pool Guaranteed at $250,000

First-Race Post Time Set for 11:30 a.m. Thursday

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – The 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool will be guaranteed at $250,000 Thursday at Gulfstream Park.

First race-post time for Thursday’s Christmas Eve Day program is set for 11:30 a.m.

The Rainbow 6 went for a second straight day Wednesday following last Saturday’s mandatory payout. Multiple tickets with all six winners were each worth $3,102.78.

The jackpot pool is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

The Rainbow 6 sequence begins with the fifth race, post time 1:30 ET, with a 1 1/16 mile turf event for claiming fillies and mares. There will be four turf races in Thursday’s sequence. Earlier in the day a $48,000 first level allowance event drew a field of six including Maedean, a 3-year-old Tapit filly making her first start since a sixth-place finish March 7 in the Busher Invitational Stakes. The filly finished second in 2019 in the Demoiselle (G2).

WHO’S HOT: Two-time Championship Meet champion Irad Ortiz Jr. had three wins. They came aboard Coworth Park ($6) in Race 1, Bella Ciao ($4.60) in Race 3 and Shamrocket ($4.40). Coworth Park and Shamrocket were both training by Todd Pletcher….Edgard Zayas had consecutive winners aboard Brasstown ($5.20) in Race 6 and Colonel Town ($9.20) in Race 7.
