The 38th edition of the Breeders’ Cup Classic features multiple Classic and Grade 1 winners, let’s take a look at the field.

Race 12) 1&1/4 Mile. Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic Grade I. Purse $6,000,000 FOR THREE-YEAR-OLDS AND UPWARD.
Post Time: 8:40/ 7:40/ 6:40/( 5:40)

1) Tripoli (Sadler/Ortiz, I); G1 Pacific Classic winner had nothing last out for a couple these in the Awesome Again; don’t see it against this field.

2) Express Train (Shirreffs/Espinoza); solid colt out of Union Rags really hasn’t faced the day-to-day quality of this field; bottoms only.

3) Hot Rod Charlie (O’Neill/Prat);
Oxbow colt is the main threat to the top two chalks; consistent battler gets the blinkers back on; he’ll push for the lead from the break which will test the field of front runners.

4) Essential Quality (Cox/Saez); Tapit son is the real deal; negative is he let’s competition stay in the game. He’s been superior to the sophomore class this year, but different group here.

5) Knicks Go (Cox/Rosario); amazing turn around since moving to the Cox barn; he’s the most experience and will push to be in front.

6) Art Collector (Mott/Smith); has won three straight since arriving in the Mott barn; things have to heat up early for him to threaten late.

7) Stilleto Boy (Moger/Desormeaux);
overmatched but some wise guy from Jersey play.

8) Medina Spirit (Baffert/Velazquez); most interesting of the field. We all the know story, since retreating to California he’s been a force. He’s got have the lead and that’s going to be tough against this bunch.

9) Max Player (Asmussen/Santana);
benefits from speed duel up front.
