HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – A mandatory payout of the 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool will be held on Sunday’s Father’s Day program at Gulfstream Park, where the popular multi-race wager has gone unsolved for eight racing days following a jackpot hit for $143,445.12.

The jackpot pool is expected to grow to an estimated $1.5 million.

Sunday’s Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 4-9 with a five-furlong maiden special weight test for 3-year-old fillies on turf kicking off the action in Race 4. Kansai, a Michael Yates-trained debuting daughter of Adios Charlie, is a full to Bouncer, a $300,000 earner who won on debut over the Gulfstream main track. Joe Orseno-trained Liz Loves Shopping came up just short last time out while making her turf debut in her second career start. Saffie Joseph Jr.-trained Brisa Velez showed vast improvement in recent runner-up finish on Tapeta.

Joseph-trained Mr. Narcissistic is the 7-5 morning-line favorite in a solid field of seven entered in Race 5, a 5 ½-furlong starter allowance on Tapeta for 3-year-olds and up. The 7-year-old gelding, who has won six of his last 10 starts, is coming off a 2 ½-length romp following a three-month freshening. Carlos David-trained Three Zero, who finished second behind the favorite after winning impressively in his previous start, is well-placed on the outside. Adios Now, an impressive winner against weaker, makes his first start for trainer Jose Castro, who has been enjoying a solid Royal Palm Meet.

Joseph-trained Hot Cargo seeks her third straight victory at Sunday’s non-winners-of-one-other than optional claiming allowance level in Race 6. The field for the five-furlong turf race for fillies in mares also includes in-form Happy Ride, who has won two of last three for a trainer with a hot hand, Laura Cazares.

A full-field of 12 bottom-claiming 4-year-olds and up in Race 7, to be contested at a mile on the main track, figures to post a challenge to Rainbow 6 bettors. Major King seeks to repeat recent victory at this level while making his first start off the claim by red-hot Amador Sanchez. Joseph-trained Zozan, a voided claim following a victory last time out, comes off a four-month layoff. Carlos David-trained Lace Up suddenly woke up to break a 10-race losing streak by 10 ¼ lengths.

Race 8, a five-furlong optional claiming allowance for 3-year-olds and up, marks the return of graded-stakes winner Steal Sunshine, who is coming off a fourth-place finish in the Godolphin Mile (G2) on the Dubai World Cup undercard April 5. While the Bobby DiBona-trained 6-year-old gelding certainly has the class, but can he transfer it to turf? The 9-5 morning-line favorite is 0-for-1 on grass. Patrick Biancone-trained Beach Gold, an impressive optional claiming allowance winner on turf last time out is rated second at 2-1.

The Rainbow 6 sequence will be wrapped up by a mile-and-70-yard $12,500 maiden claiming race for 3-year-olds and up on Tapeta in Race 9, which may prove to be a popular ‘spread’ race with Rainbow 6 bettors. Joseph-trained Try to Make Cents is the 5-2 morning-line favorite off an even fourth-place finish against only slightly tougher in his debut. Castro-trained Live to Ride is coming off a pair of second-place finishes.

The Rainbow 6 carryover pool is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool usually goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool. On mandatory-payout days, the entire Rainbow 6 jackpot pool is paid out to the bettor or bettors with the most winners in the wager’s six-race sequence.

Jose Morelos Rides Six Winners Saturday at Gulfstream

Jose Morelos continued to establish himself as a young jockey on the rise Saturday at Gulfstream while riding six winners on Saturday’s 11 program.

“I’m very happy to win six races today. I want to thank all the owners and trainers for the opportunity to ride their horses,” said Morelos, who had seven mounts on the 11-race program.

The 24-year-old Colombia-born, Panama-raised jockey won aboard Inallprobability ($8.60) in Race 2, Bee a Queen ($13.20) in Race 4, Wiggle An’ Wine ($11.60) in Race 6, R Money Moves ($5.60) in Race 7, Smiling Ellie ($4.60) in Race 9 and El Apagon ($6.40) in Race 10 to run his Royal Palm Meet win total to 37, third best behind only Edgard Zayas (57) and Emisael Jaramillo (48).

“I was thinking last night that I might have a good day today,” he said.

Morelos has seven mounts on Sunday’s nine-race card, including Steal Sunshine, the 9-5 morning-line favorite in the Race 8 feature who returns from a fourth in the Godolphin Mile (G2) on the April 5 Dubai World Cup card.

Morelos has steadily established a year-round presence at Gulfstream since arriving in late 2021. While competing against the best jockeys in the U.S. during the 2024-2025 Championship Meet, he rode 19 winners with a gawdy average win payoff of just over $29.
