Little Miss Curlin Dominates Donovan L. Ferguson

NEW ORLEANS (Nov. 21, 2025) – Coteau Grove Farms’ homebred Little Miss Curlin dominated a field of eight statebred juvenile fillies on Friday at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots, winning the $100,000 Donovan L. Ferguson Stakes by five lengths.

Trained by Pat Devereaux Jr. and piloted by Jareth Loveberry, Little Miss Curlin covered six furlongs in 1:11.45. Wickdwithbourbon finished second and Liteupthenite was third.

After breaking on top, Little Miss Curlin allowed her inside foe, El Sunshine, to go to the lead, dueled through the far turn, then took command with a furlong to go and drew off.

Sent off as the 9-5 favorite, Little Miss Curlin paid $5.80, $3.60 and $2.80.

Along with her impressive debut win at Delta Downs, the daughter of Charlatan out of Mylady Curlin is now 2-for-2 with $85,800 in earnings.

Opening week of Fair Grounds’ 154th meet wraps up Saturday, with three more statebred stakes set for the nine-race card.

Fair Grounds Transitions to Gmax

Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots has introduced a new race-timing system, transitioning from its long-used Teletimer setup to Gmax, a modern, GPS-based technology owned and operated by Equibase. The upgrade promises to deliver more precise sectional and final times by tracking each horse’s position throughout the race, enhancing accuracy for horsemen, handicappers and fans. With Gmax now fully integrated, Fair Grounds joins a growing number of major tracks adopting advanced timing tools.
