Magnitude and Jose Ortiz defeat Baeza and Flavien Prat by 1 ¼ lengths in the $2 million Stephen Foster Stakes (G1) at Churchill Downs. The 4-year-old Not This Time colt, also winner of the Dubai World Cup (G1) in March, has accumulated $9,782,365 in career earnings for owner Winchell Thoroughbreds and trainer Steve Asmussen. Reigning Horse of the Year and Kentucky Derby 151 winner Sovereignty completed the top three.

NTRA Top Thoroughbred Poll – June 29, 2026

Week 23 of the 2026 NTRA Top Thoroughbred Poll conducted by the National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA), covering racing performances through June 28. Voting is conducted by national media.

The Three-Year-Old poll represents horses competing up and through the Triple Crown.

The Top Thoroughbred poll represents horses competing for Horse of the Year. The Top Thoroughbred Poll concludes on Tuesday, November 3 following the Breeders’ Cup World Championships.

Rankings on poll are on a 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-1 basis with first place votes in parentheses, 2026 record and total points. A-S: Age-Sex, Sex: C-colt, G-gelding, H-horse, F-filly, M-mare, R-ridgling.
