My Impression looks to leave lasting mark in Plenty Of Grace

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Stuart Janney III’s My Impression will gain class relief and return to the site of her last stakes win as part of a field of seven in Saturday’s third running of the $100,000 Plenty Of Grace for fillies and mares 4-years-old and up at one mile on the turf at Aqueduct Racetrack.

Trained by Hall of Famer Shug McGaughey, My Impression will start for the first time since a fifth-place finish in the Grade 2 Hillsborough on March 11. The 4-year-old daughter of Sky Mesa will be back at the Big A for the first time since winning the Winter Memories on November 25.

After going 5-0-1 in 10 career starts between 1 1/16 miles and a mile and a quarter, My Impression will cut back to the Plenty Of Grace distance of one mile for the first time. Dylan Davis will ride from the outside post.

Mizz Money, one of two Chad Brown trainees in the field, is a two-time graded stakes winner, taking the Grade 3 Gallorette Handicap on May 21 and also winning the 2015 Grade 3 Pucker Up. Making her 24th start, all six of the 5-year-old’s career wins have come on turf. Eric Cancel will ride out of post 5.

Brown’s other entrant is the Irish-bred Light In Paris, who was impressive in a runner-up effort to Isabella Sings in the Grade 3 Lambholm South Endeavour on February 11 at Tampa Bay Downs, and will look to atone for a sixth-place finish in the Grade 2 Hillsborough. Light In Paris will be seeking her first stakes win and her second overall win in the United States after winning her first three career races in France. Manny Franco will have the call from post 3.

Rattataptap will return to stakes company after winning an optional claimer on February 16. Trained by Hall of Famer Bill Mott, Rattataptap rallied for fifth in the Grade 1 La Brea before dropping in class. The 5-year-old daughter of Tapit drew post 6 with jockey Rajiv Maragh.

Bar of Gold, a consistent 5-year-old Medaglia d’Oro dark bay, will make her turf debut in drawing post 2. Trained by John Kimmel, she is 5-3-3 in 16 career starts and won the Empire Distaff Handicap on October 22. Bar of Gold, who has run on dirt tracks in all but two of her starts, will have the services of jockey Christopher DeCarlo for the first time.

Graded stakes veteran My Sweet Girl, for trainer Barclay Tagg, will be cutting back in distance in seeking her first win since capturing the Perfect Sting on July 2 at Belmont Park. After finishing out of the money in her last four starts, encompassing a trio of Grade 3 starts in the Suwannee River, Athenia and Noble Damsel, the 5-year-old Bernardini mare will exit post 4 in tandem with Cornelio Velasquez.

Bishop’s Pond will make her first stakes start since the 2015 Grade 3 Boiling Springs. The Jason Servis trainee won an optional claimer last out on November 10 at the Big A and should be fresh in drawing the rail. Angel Arroyo will be in the irons.
