Saturday’s Rainbow 6 Carryover Jackpot Grows to $377,000
Gulfstream Summer Graduate Takes Schuylerville (G3)
HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – The 20-cent Rainbow 6 went unsolved at Gulfstream Park Friday, creating a $377,563.07 carryover jackpot for Saturday’s program (First-race post time — 12:45 p.m.)
Multiple tickets with all six winners Friday were each worth $12,554.24.
The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners.
On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.
The Rainbow 6 has gone unsolved for 11 straight racing days following the June 30 mandatory payout of a pool in excess of $4 million that yielded a $196,953.84 payoff for each ticket with all six winners.
Saturday’s Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 7-12, kicked off with a $65,000 six-furlong maiden race for 2-year-olds in Race 7, which attracted a field of nine, including Reservenotattained, a son of Shanghai Bobby who finished second in his debut, andwell-bred first-time starter Zaya, a son of Cairo Prince trained by Kathy Ritvo.
In the featured 11th race, a six-furlong dash for fillies and mares, Awesome Mass, a multiple stakes-placed 3-year-old filly who returned from an 8 ½-length layoff to win going away by 5 ½ lengths, will face six rivals, including Razorback Lady, who finished a close second in the House Party Stakes behind graded-stakes winner Take Charge Paula in January.
