Saratoga Day 6: John Morrissey Stakes

New York-breds continue the stakes action when a field of eight load for the running of the John Morrissey Stakes.

Race 9) John Morrissey Stake 3yo & up NY-Bred 6&1/2 Furlongs Post Time 5:40 EDT

7) Gold for the King – 4-year-old has posted three consecutive triple-digit speed efforts, the last coming in a win at the distance at Belmont.

3) Long Haul Bay – has won 3-of-5 career starts; disappointed as the fave last out in the slop at Pimlico; rebounds.

6) Runaway Lute – though winless at the route and here (placed), colt exits a clearing score at Belmont going seven furlongs.

8) Weekend Hideaway – 8-year-old is a 12-time winner, including four here, however it’s been over a year since a visit to the winner’s circle.
