Three Oaklawn-raced horses, including Bodacious Bay, are entered in the $300,000 Mother Goose Stakes (G2) for 3-year-old fillies Saturday at Belmont Park.

Probable post time for the 1 1/16-mile Mother Goose, the ninth of 10 races, is 2:43 p.m. (Central).

Bodacious Bay made her career debut last April at Oaklawn for trainer Rodolphe Brisset, finishing second in a maiden special weight sprint. Bodacious Bay broke her maiden in June at Churchill Downs, then, in her stakes debut, finished second in the Monmouth Oaks (G3) in July at Monmouth Park.

Bodacious Bay was privately purchased after the Monmouth Oaks and transferred to trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. In Bodacious Bay’s first start for her new connections, she was a 3 ¼-length winner of the $1 million Cotillion Stakes (G1) at 1 1/16 miles Sept. 19 at Parx.

Micah Husbands retains the mount on Bodacious Bay, who is scheduled to break from post 7 under equal top weight of 124 pounds.

The projected 11-horse field also features Tahlequah for Joseph and Tap to Open for trainer Brad Cox.

Tahlequah and Tap to Open finished 1-2, respectively, in a 1 1/16-mile maiden special weight event last April at Oaklawn. Tap to Open returned to win the Cathryn Sophia Stakes Aug. 18 at Parx before finishing fourth in the Cotillion in her last start.

Betting on Sunshine

Obliteration, Tejano Twist and Dreaminblue – all stakes winners last season at Oaklawn – are entered in the Bet On Sunshine Stakes for 3-year-olds and up at 6 furlongs Saturday at Churchill Downs.

Obliteration, the 7-2 program favorite, will be facing older horses for the first time. Obliteration opened his 3-year-old campaign with a 7 ½-length victory in the $150,000 Renaissance last January at Oaklawn for Hall of Fame trainer Steve Asmussen.

Tejano Twist ($1,956,289 in career earnings) is a four-time Oaklawn stakes winner, the latest coming in the $250,000 Whitmore (G3) last March for trainer Chris Hartman. Tejano Twist won the 2023 Bet On Sunshine.

Dreaminblue won the $135,000 Silks Overnight last December at Oaklawn for trainer Randy Morse.

Oaklawn winners Viking, Lips Say Bliss, Echo Again and Tap Me a Song are also entered in the Bet On Sunshine.

Finish Lines

Oaklawn has abbreviated training hours Thursday and Friday (7 a.m.-9 a.m., Central) because the annual Arkansas High School State Cross Country Championships are being staged in the infield. … Millionaire multiple stakes winner Silent Tactic is one of the horses on the grounds for dual Hall of Fame Mark Casse, Oaklawn’s third-leading trainer last season. Silent Tactic was the only horse to go through Oaklawn’s four-race Kentucky Derby prep series in 2026, winning the $1 million Southwest Stakes (G3). He also won the Oklahoma Derby (G3) Sept. 27 at Remington Park. … Oaklawn stakes winner Lambeth (9-5 program favorite) and Oaklawn maiden special weight/allowance winner Kupuna are entered in the River City Stakes (G3) for 3-year-olds and up at 1 1/8 miles on the turf Saturday at Churchill Downs. … Oaklawn-raced Reagan’s Flame is the 5-2 program favorite for the Bessarabian Stakes (G3) for fillies and mares, 3 and up, at 7 furlongs Saturday at Woodbine. … Oaklawn stakes winner Oscar’s Hope is entered in the Carle Place Stakes for 3-year-olds at 6 furlongs on the turf Saturday at Belmont Park. … Oaklawn allowance winner Indy Bay and Oaklawn-raced Amalfi Drive and Beauty Reigns are entered in the Pumpkin Pie Stakes for fillies and mares, 3 and up, at 7 furlongs Saturday at Belmont Park.
