A sun splashed afternoon await a field of ten 3-year-old fillies in the 97th Running of the Grade 2 Black-Eyed Susan; let’s take a look at the contenders.

PIMLICO

Race 13) 1&1/8th Mile. MITCHELL BLACK-EYED SUSAN S.. Grade II. Purse $250,000 FOR FILLIES, THREE-YEARS-OLD
Post Time: ( 5:44)/ 4:44/ 3:44/ 2:44

6) Iced Latte (Pletcher/Saez); out of Pioneer of the Nile, filly was hampered a bit by the sloppy conditions last out following her maiden score two back at Gulfstream; she’ll go to the front and be tough to run down.

10) Beautiful Gift (Baffert/Velazquez); by Medaglia d’Oro, the obvious race favorite has done little wrong in her four career starts as she took the Grade 3 Santa Ysabel and finish a half-length back last out in the G2 Santa Anita Oaks; speed is Baffert starters know and she’ll need it today.

9) Adventuring (Cox/Geroux); also out of Pioneer of the Nile, filly has won 2-straight taking the Bourbonette Oaks over the synthetic main at Turfway; loose on the lead and they won’t catch her.

4) Forever Boss (McPeek/Ortiz, J.); nice win last out at Keeneland has her prepped for her ready to rebound.

Selections: 6, 10. 9, 4
