A week before heading to beautiful Saratoga and the 156th running of the Belmont Stakes, we’ll head south a bit to Grantville Pa. for a Friday night stakes special from Penn National Race Course and the running of the Grade 3 Penn Mile over what should be a firm turf. This contest for 3-year-olds is one of six stakes on the card with value to be had in each.

Race 6) 1 Mile Turf. Purse $400,000. Penn Mile S.. FOR THREE-YEAR-OLDS Post Time 7:45 EDT

10) Trikari (Motion/Rispoli); colt out of Oscar Performance enters having won 3-of-4, the last a clearing victory in the G2 American Turf at Churchill Downs. Jockey Rispoli is on a bit of graded stakes roll having won two Grade 1’s over Memorial weekend.

4) First World War (Walsh/Dettori); winner of the Grade 3 Kitten’s Joy two back, exits a disappointing effort in the G3 Transylvannia, a career worse finish. Rested and saddled with new rider in Dettori, War Front colt looks to rebound.

6) Please Advise (Gulyas/Castellano); finished up from well back to show last out in the English Channel run at Gulfstream; strong work suggests an exotics finish.

2) Good Lord Lorrie (Gulyas/Prat); a perfect 2-for-2; bullet work at the Spa in prep for this; do not overlook!!!
